Don’t ignore the P11D deadline! If you’re an employer and provide expenses or benefits to employees or directors, you may want to add a note in your calendar for 6th July as P11D forms are due.
Whether you have provided employees with accommodation, covered public transport costs or provided a loan to an employee, you need to tell HMRC about benefits and expenses during the tax year and submit your forms online to HMRC by 6th July 2019.
What is a P11D?
Your P11D(b) tells HMRC how much Class 1A National Insurance you need to pay on all the expenses and benefits you’ve provided to employees. The calculation of this liability is detailed on the P11D(b) form and the deadline for payment of the Class 1A NIC is 19th July 2019 (or 22nd for cleared electronic payment).
Gathering all the details of the annual benefits and expenses as well as completing the forms will take some work so make sure you are set ahead of the deadline.
